Post 59. Mulberries...

 We may not see mulberries in the supermarkets very often, but they are delicious fruit.

Mulberries are not indigenous trees in the UK and originate from Asia. The domestication of the tree several thousand years ago is linked with silkworm rearing or sericulture[1] Trees were especially brought to the UK in the nineteenth century to try and produce silk, but many are now found in the gardens of old houses.  I took this photo at Riseholme Park, Lincolnshire and the tree definitely has character!
